Manjiro Terauchi was born on November 25, 1890 in Osaka, Japan.
In 1916 graduated from the Tokyo School of Fine Arts, Western-painting division.
In 1918 Manjiro Terauchi was able to show pictures at the state "Bunte" exhibition. In 1919 he became a juror on called "Teiten" exhibition. In 1926 he founded with painter friends, including Suzuki Shintaro, the "pomegranate society".
From 1943 to 1950 taught at Tokyo Academy, from 1952 at Tokyo Kyoiku Daigaku (University of Education), and from 1959 at Niigata University. He trained numerous painters.
