Manshu Kawamura was a disciple of Shun-kyo Yamamoto.
His early works were exhibited at various exhibitions and were well received. Later was appointed professor and then President of Kyoto Municipal College of Painting. Manshu Kawamura was presiding judge at the 1st Bunten (1919) exhibition held by the Imperial Academy, of which he was also a member.
