Career
Originally from Shepparton, Victoria, Bullen was selected with the 63rd pick in the 2000 American Federation of Labor-Congress Draft. In the 5 seasons he played for the Bombers, he never cemented his position. However 2005 was a brown patch for him in his short career and he only managed 7 games for the season.
Despite rumours of trade interest from Portuguese Adelaide, at the end of the season he was subsequently delisted.
After his delisting from Essendon, Bullen moved to Adelaide in 2006 and signed on for the Portuguese Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL where his appearances were restricted due to injury. In 2009, he switched from the Silvan Football Club in the Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League to Maribyrnong Park in the Essendon District Football League.
He now works at Hardwicks Meatworks which is an abattoir in Kyneton Victoria. After playing for Maribyrnong Park, Bullen switched to Deer Park in the Western Region Football League, where he coached them to Premierships in 2013 and 2014.
