Education
Marc Lesage studied Classics at the Franciscain College of Trois-Rivières (Séminaire Saint-Antoine) before studying sociology at the Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium) in the early 1970s. He completed a Masters of Sociology between 1983 and 1985 at Concordia University (Montreal), where he also received his Doctor of Philosophy in Humanities in 1995 under the direction of Hubert Guindon (1929–2002).
Career
As union advisor for the Confédération des syndicats nationaux (Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear) in Quebec City (1975–1978), and Montreal (1978–1983), he collaborated on the drafting of many documents. He is the author of several works, including Les vagabonds du rêve (1986) and Microcité (1997). He also produced the documentary film by Philippe Lesage, Pourrons-nous vivre ensemble (2006), about the 2005 urban violence in France, with the participation of Alain Touraine.
