Marc’s theatrical career as a “performer/author” is as diversified as his talent. He has appeared in films and has had guest leads on television with recurring roles on both soaps and a series. These acting credits have been combined with an impressive body of work in the theatre. With a debut performance on the New York stage at the age of fourteen; within a short period of time, he was being acknowledged as a strong dancer and singer. Constantly studying with the best teachers in New York.
He was cast by some of the theatre’s finest directors and essayed leading roles in major productions and tours of such musicals as: “The Sound Of Music”, “The Fantasticks”, “West Side Story”, “Fiddler On The Roof”, “Stop The World I Want To Get Off”, “Promises-Promises” and “Gypsy”. A season with the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada led to a series of dramatic leads in various productions of: “The Lion In Winter”, “Antigone”, “Satyricon”, “Romeo And Juliet”, “As You Like It” and “Macbeth”, in venues ranging from the Public Theater in New York to the Ahmanson in Los Angeles.
As a screenwriter, he has a documentary running on The Learning and Discovery Channels. Based upon his work as a “film ghostwriter”, Marc was commissioned by Carlo Ponti, in Rome, to write the screenplay adaptation of an Italian novel: “Waypoint”. Upon completion, he moved from Italy to England to work on “The Hook” for Greycurve Productions. Returning to Los Angeles, he was an in-house writer for Bonnie Franklin and Poolhouse Productions. To date, he has completed eight original screenplays; two of which are currently under option. Most recently he was commissioned to write the sequel to the cult hit “Easy Rider”.
An accomplished playwright, Marc’s work has been produced both on the New York and Los Angeles stages. His first play: “Nobody’s Home” received critical acclaim and was named: “Best Play Of The Season”(Variety). “Apartments” (Critics Choice: LA Times) was a hit at the Fringe Festival and has had several revivals at various theatres. Long Beach Civic Light Opera produced his original musical “Intimate Strangers” (with Sheree North, Dale Kristien). “Duck Dancing” had two workshop productions (with Renee Taylor and Dom DeLuise) played the Coast Theatre and was optioned as a film for Martin Short. “Identical Twins From Baltimore” (Critics Choice. Pick Of The Week and nominated for NAACP Image Award) enjoyed an extended run and was subsequently produced Off-Broadway at Playhouse 91. “Madly in Love”, his musical had several New York workshops and premiered at the Odyssey Theater. Current: “Quadroon” (music/lyrics by Joe Sample and Jonatha Brooke) premiered in Houston. “Por Siempre Navidad” (music: Maria Isabel Murillo) is in its second season in Bogota Columbia.
