Marcel Duclos MARIGOH MBOUA was born in 1921 at Nguelebok, in the Eastern Province,
hH graduated from Yaounde Higher Primary School at the same time as Ahidjo.
Elected to the Territorial Assembly (ATCAM) in March 1952, with Ahidjo, he was from 1957 to 1958, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs in Andre-Marie Mbida’s cabinet, when Ahidjo held the offices of Vice-Premier and Minister of the Interior. When Ahidjo was elected President in 1960, Marigoh Mboua was made Vice-President of the National Assembly, becoming President in 1962.
He was also, for a time, chairman of the Franco-Cameroon Tobacco Company and member of the Political Bureau of the UNC. He became president of its Executive Committee in August 1966.
