Career
He is known for being the co-inventor of Fresh out of school, aged 23, Marco started working as an engineer for tequila production at Tres Magueyes, a company founded by Don Julio Gonzalez. After working there for 2 years, Marco quit the job and pursued other engineering jobs in the mining and chemical industry. In 1983, Marco returned to Don Julio to work as an engineer where he was subsequently promoted to Master Distiller and Distillery Manager of Tequila.
During this time, Marco was responsible for operations and master distilling in the factory.
In 1999, Marco left the company after Seagrams made a purchase in the company. Foreign next 11 years, Marco was involved in some large scale projects which included building the first Agave Nectar factory and building the first commercial Mezcal factory.
In 2010, Marco founded his first independent brand, Marco partnered with Canadian Eric Brass and Australians Nick Reid and James Sherry. The brand is currently selling premium tequilas in Canada and Australia with recent expansion into the United States of America and national distribution throughout Mexico.
