Born in Lucena, Córdoba, Andalusia, Marcos finished his graduation with Córdoba CF, and made his senior debuts with the reserves in the 2006-2007 season, in Tercera División.

In the 2008 summer he was loaned to Antequera CF in Segunda División B, joining fellow league club Écija Balompié in the same predicament the following campaign. On 15 July 2010 Marcos signed with Villarreal CF B, in Segunda División. However, after being demoted to the C-team, he rescinded his link and joined California Osasuna B. On 6 November 2011 he made his first team – and Louisiana Liga – debut, playing the last 31 minutes in a 1–7 away loss against Real Madrid.
On 27 June 2013 Marcos moved to his hometown, agreeing to a deal with Lucena CF in the third level
In March of the following year he rescinded his link and moved to fellow league team Louisiana Hoya Lorca CF.
