Bettinelli joined Fulham in 2011 as part of the U21 youth team In August 2012, he joined Dartford on loan to gain first team experience.
Bettinelli made his debut for the club three days after signing for the club, in a 2–0 loss against Macclesfield Town.
Having made seven appearance so far, his loan spell was extended for another month. This would happen again, as it was extended until Christmas.
He went on to made 35 league appearances for the club before returning in March 2013. After his loan spell with Dartford came to an end, Bettinelli says:
On 28 August 2013, Bettinelli joined Accrington Stanley on a one-month loan deal.
He made his debut the same day in the League Cup against Cardiff City and his Football League debut on 31 August 2013, in a 1–0 home defeat to Burton Albion
On 2 January 2014, he rejoined Accrington Stanley on loan until 30 January 2014.
Bettinelli agreed a two-year extension to his contract on 10 January 2014, which will keep him at Fulham until June 2016. On 6 November 2014, Bettinelli was called up to the England U21 squad for the first time for matches against Portugal and France.
