Career
Holman was an attackman for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels and had started in 52 of University of North Carolina"s 62 games (84%) in the last four years. He was University of North Carolina"s all-time leading scorer until Joey Sankey surpassed him during the 2015 season. Holman"s father, Brian, coaches University of North Carolina"s goalkeepers, runs the substitution box and helps coordinate the defense.
He joined head coach Joe Breschi in his first year at Chapel Hill in 2009.
Marcus" older brother, Matthew, was a goalkeeper for the Tar Heels in 2011 and 2012. Holman attended Gilman School in Baltimore and the lacrosse team he played on was ranked Number.
1 by Inside Lacrosse in 2009 in Holman"s senior year, when he was the team"s Most Valuable Player and captain. He was also a captain of his high school football team in his senior year.
2013 Administrative Committee on Company-ordination coaches named Holman to the 2013 All-Administrative Committee on Company-ordination team on 24 April 2013.
The 2013 season was Holman"s second consecutive year on the All-Administrative Committee on Company-ordination team Holman became the Tar Heels" all-time leading scorer on 28 April 2013 when he surpassed the previous school record of 204 set by Bruce Ledwith (1970-1973). 2012 Holman"s teammates voted him University of North Carolina"s most valuable player in 2011 and 2012 and he was a second-team All-American in 2012.
2011 Holman switched from attack to midfield as a sophomore.
2010 Holman was the Administrative Committee on Company-ordination Freshman of the Year in 2010. Currently has eight teams.
The 2013 season starts at the end of April and ends in August. The Ohio Machine selected Holman in the second round of the last MLL draft.
