(Children with psychological problems have long been ignor...)
Children with psychological problems have long been ignored both in the laboratory and in the consulting room. Our identification of pathology traditionally rests on internal dynamics which cannot be observed directly. However, behavioral approaches now offer an alternative, especially in the treatment of autism, childhood schizophrenia, and childhood phobias. Physiological approaches also promise to improve our understanding of learning disorders and psycho-physiolocical disorders. This important volume integrates all three points of view and represents current knowledge of child psychology in a form that is useful to both the advanced student and the practicing clinician.
