1909 graduate Bestuzhev Higher Women's Courses, Saint St. Petersburg.
1896 arrested for involvement with illegal printing press in Lakhta and exiled to Vyatka Province for three years. 1898—1901 corresponded and met with Forest Engineer Dzerzhinskiy. After return from exile worked as a teacher.
While attending Bestuzhev Courses joined a Social-Democratic group and helped to publish and distribute illegal lit, including works by Lenin. While in Saint St. Petersburg often met with V.G. Korolenko, whose biography she wrote. 1919 moved to Poltava, where she lived with Korolenko's family.
During 1930's specialized in the study of Lermontov's life and works and worked for the Lermontov Commission, Institute of Russian Literature, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. From 1939 associate, Lermontov Museum, Pyatigorsk.
