(What is the "theological method"? Can there be more than ...)
What is the "theological method"? Can there be more than one method? If so, how do you choose between them? How does the method relate to experience? Would experience affect your choice of method and method affect experience? Abdul-Masih offers a three-part proposition. To expand upon and illustrate her claim, Abdul-Masih analyzes, throughout her book, the methods of Edward Schillebeeckx and Hans Frei, who represent the tension in contemporary theology surrounding the issue of experience. Edward Schillebeeckx and Hans Frei: A Conversation on Method and Christology is a book that will challenge and enlighten those who wish to expand their understanding of the theological methodology.

Marguerite Thabit Abdul-Masih was born on November 14, 1956, in Kuwait. She is the daughter of Abaskharoun and Mary Haroun (Guirguis) Thabit Abdul-Masih.
Marguerite Abdul-Masih began her studies at the American University of Beirut which she attended from 1973 till 1975. Then she entered Bryn Mawr College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978. Three years later, she obtained a Master of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in chemistry in 1985. She continued her studies at the University of St. Michael's College where she got a Master of Divinity degree in 1989. Then she also received a Licentiate of Sacred Theology degree from the University of Toronto in 1993 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in theology in 1995.
Marguerite Abdul-Masih is a professor of the department of religious studies at Saint Mary's University. Before taking this position, she was an assistant professor from 1996 becoming an associate professor in 2001. During her career, she was also a speaker at various institutions, including Regis College, the University of Toronto, and Baylor University. In 1993-1994 she was a faculty member at St. Augustine's Seminary.
In addition to her teaching career, Abdul-Masih is also the author of the book Edward Schillebeeckx and Hans Frei: A Conversation on Method and Christology (2001). Apart from offering a thorough comparison of the role of experience in the work of Hans Frei and Edward Schillebeeckx, this work is also an exemplary exercise in the necessity of deeply exploring the presuppositions of any given theological method. It illustrates all too well the difficulties of theological conversation. The author makes considerable use of Hans Frei's doctoral dissertation, "The Doctrine of Revelation in the Thought of Karl Barth, 1909-1922."
She also contributed to periodicals, including Ecumenist, Cornerstone, Studies in Religion, and Journal of Biological Chemistry.
Marguerite Abdul-Masih is known as an outstanding theologian and educator holding the position of a professor of religious studies at Saint Mary's University. She is highly respected among her students as well as colleagues. Her famous book, Edward Schillebeeckx and Hans Frei: A Conversation on Method and Christology, received a very good response.
