She performed in her first play at 16 and has appeared in regional theatre productions ranging from Fahrenheit 451 at the Falcon Theatre to South Pacific at Goodspeed. She has also appeared in Broadway or Office-Broadway productions of Jane Eyre, City of Angels, Number Way to Treat a Lady, Annie Warbucks, Weird Romance, and Mata Hari. She starred on The Vampire Diaries as Sheriff Forbes until season six
MacIntyre holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Southern California, and studied acting at London"s Royal Academy of Dramatic Artist
