Marianne Noble received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University in 1983. She also got a Master of Arts degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Columbia University.
Marianne Noble began her career at Georgetown University where she taught French. She taught high school English at Colegio Marymount from 1983 to 1984. Marianne also taught American literature and logic and rhetoric at Columbia University. In 1993 she joined the staff of American University, where she was appointed as an assistant professor at first, and becoming an associate professor in 2000. Currently, Marianne is a Professor of Literature at American University, and teaches nineteenth-century American literature and introductory courses in literary theory and creative writing.
Noble is also a member of the review board for Legacy and has presented papers at professional conferences in the United States and Canada.
