Azuela Guitrón, Mariano was born on April 1, 1936 in Federal District, Mexico. Son of Mariano Azuela Rivera, Supreme Court Justice, and María de los Dolores Guitrón Machaen grandson of notable novelist Mariano Azuela. Nephew of historian Salvador Azuela Rivera.
