Mulheron attended Simon’s Rock College of Bard, receiving a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in 1990. She earned an associate degree in nursing with honors from Berkshire Community College in 1994 and completed a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, at the University of Massachusetts in 1995. In 2003, she received a Master of Science from Arizona State University.
Mulheron worked as a nurse at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix from 1998 to 2003. She served as a family nurse practitioner at St. Luke’s Center Clinic II from 2003 to 2004 and with Maricopa Integrated Health Systems in Phoenix from 2004 to 2005. Since 2005, she has been affiliated with Foothills Family Medicine as a family nurse practitioner.
