Mario Roberto Villanova Nogueira is a lawyer whose professional career has been based in São Paulo, Brazil. He has worked with major Brazilian and multinational companies and has developed a long-standing practice focused on business transactions, competition law and corporate matters.
Nogueira graduated in Law from the University of São Paulo in 1986. In 1989, he completed postgraduate studies in Business Administration at Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo. Nogueira worked for many years as a partner of Demarest & Almeida Advogados, where he advised clients on competition matters, corporate transactions and business law. He also helped lead initiatives directed at French companies interested in investing in Brazil and served as a speaker in seminars concerning competition-law enforcement and the Brazilian competition system. In 2018, he became a founding partner of Nogueira, Haret, Melo e Maroli Advogados, known as NHM Advogados. At NHM, he is a partner in the mergers and acquisitions, antitrust and corporate practices, advising national and multinational companies and coordinating complex transactions, including transactions valued at more than one billion Brazilian reais.
