Secretary, Zarasay Uyezd Committee, Lith Communist Youth League. June 1942 joined 16th Lith Infantry Division, Red Army. 23 May 1943 sent behind enemy lines with partisan group.
Helped found Kestutis Partisan Detachment and took part in its operations. 8 July 1943 wounded and captured by German troops along with partisan group.
