1896 completed Moscow high school. Attended Higher Women's Courses in Moscow and New University in Brussels.
Joined revol movement as a student. Member, illegal student circles. Several times arrested.
Spent a total of two years in prison and five years in exile. Did Party work in Saint St. Petersburg, Moscow, Saratov and other cities. From 1900 corTcsp, Lenin’s newspaper “Iskra”.
From 1903 worked for secretariat, Central Committee, Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party. 1904-1905 and 1908-1909 lived abroad. 1910 worked for Saratov newspaper “Privolzhskaya gazeta" and for Bolshevik organisation.
1917-1929 member, editorial board and exec secretary, newspaper "Pravda”. Helped organize workers and rural correspondents movement. Education journal “Raboche-krest’yanskiy korrcspondent”.
Member, Moscow Party Control Commission. From 1925 member, Party Centr Control Commission. From 1932 Presidium member, Centr Control Commission.
From 1934 member and Bureau member, Soviet Control Commission and head of its Complaints Bureau. From 1935 member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Central Executive Committee.
