Mark "Marco" Bresciano (born on 11 February 1980 in Melbourne) is an Australian football (soccer) midfielder, who currently plays for US Palermo in the Italian Serie A. He has represented Australia at all youth levels, including appearances at the 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship and 2000 Olympic Games, and is a regular member of the Socceroos. He played in all of Australia's games at the 2006 World Cup.

Career

Mark Bresciano plays Midfielder and wears jersey number 23 for Palermo of the Italian Serie A. He stands 5 feet 11 inches.Before joining Palermo in 2006, he has also been a member of Bulleen Lions from 1995-1997, Carlton from 1997-1999, Empoli from 1999-2002 and Parma from 2002-2006.He has played a total of 77 games for the Australian National Team since 1997, scoring 16 goals.

Achievements

  • Since the age of 19 he has played his senior club football in Italy, initially with Empoli before spending four seasons with Parma, and now his current club, Palermo.
