He had a nine-year career in Major League Baseball, primarily as a third baseman and shortstop, for the Detroit Tigers (1938-1939), Saint Louis Browns (1939 and 1943-1946) and Washington Senators (1947-1949). 1945 All-Star selection In 9 seasons he played in 911 Games and had 3,081 At Bats, 294 Runs, 781 Hits, 113 Doubles, 23 Triples, 19 Home Runs, 348 Reserve Bank of India, 17 Stolen Bases, 219 Walks.253 Batting Average.306 On-base percentage.324 Slugging Percentage, 997 Total Bases and 37 Sacrifice Hits. He died in Saint Louis, Missouri, at the age of 62.
