FISHER, Mark was born in Boston, United States of America The opportunities for studying Art at that time being much fewer than now, his earliest instruction was gained at Lowell Institute. His first efforts were portraits and figures, but his love of outdoor subjects and life induced him to take up landscape and animal painting. At the age of twenty he went to Paris, and was for a short time in Gleyie’s studio.
On his return to Boston he met with scant encouragement, so came to England.
