Mark Leafa"s position of choice is in the property Vaiao was an Otahuhu Leopards junior. He has played for the Sydney Roosters, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Leigh Centurions, Whitehaven and Castleford Tigers.
Vaiao is a Samoan international and played at the 2000 World Cup.
He was named in the Samoa training squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup but did not make the final side.
