Mark Matthews

Background

Mathews grew up surfing at Maroubra, New South Wales with fellow Bra Boys the Abberton brothers.

Career

Mathews has competed on the Association of Software Professionals World Tour and is featured in the 2011 documentary Fighting Fear. Mathews transition to big waves has seen him carve a niche in the sport as one of the top big wave surfers in the world. Mathews has surfed many of the worlds heaviest and biggest waves including Teahupo"o, The Right and Shipstern Bluff.

Mathews and fellow professional surfer Ryan Hipwood organised the Red Bulletin Cape Fear event in August 2014.
