Career
He replaced Dawn Ostroff in 2011, who has been the Head of Entertainment since the network"s inception in 2006. Pedowitz oversees all aspects of The CW, including programming, sales, marketing, distribution, finance, research and publicity. Pedowitz began his career in the entertainment industry as an attorney at Master of Computer Applications Incorporated. in 1979.
He was Senior Vice President, Business Affairs and Administration, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer/UA Television Production Group, a position he had held since 1987.
From 1985-1987, Pedowitz was Vice President, Business Affairs and General Counsel, The Landsburg Company. From 1980-1985, he was Vice President, Business Affairs, Reeves Entertainment.
He served as Executive Vice President, American Broadcasting Company Entertainment Television Group, overseeing all business, legal and financial affairs for American Broadcasting Company Primetime and Touchstone Television, as well as business/legal affairs for American Broadcasting Company Daytime. He joined American Broadcasting Company in 1991 as Senior Vice President, Business Affairs and Contracts.
He set up Pine Street Entertainment, a production company which has a first look deal with Warner Brothers
Television.
