REYZEN, Mark was born in 1895 in village Zaytsevo, Ukrainia.
Studied at Kharkov Technology Institute. 1919 graduated Kharkov Conservatory.
1915-1917 in Russia Army. Formed and conducted balalaika orchestra in his company. Later sang in choir, Kharkov Technology Institute.Simultaneously instructor. 1920-1921 actor, Kharkov Drama Theater. 1922-1924 soloist, Kharkov Opera Theater.1925-1930 soloist, Leningrad Academy Theater of Opera and Ballet. 1930-1954 soloist, USSR Bolshoy Theater. Toured in Germany, France, England and Hungary.Roles: Boris in “Boris Godunov”. Dosifey in Mussorgsky’s “Khovanshchina”. Susanin in Glinka’s “Ivan Susanin”.The miller in Dragomyzhsky’s “Rusalka”. Mephisto in Gounod’s “Faust”. The Viking guest in Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Sadko”.Prince Gremin in Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin”, etc.
