Career
He earned a Bachelors in English literature from Boston College, and a Juris Doctor and a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. After teaching literature for a stint at the University of Kansas, Killenbeck worked for thirteen years in central administrative positions for the University of Nebraska System.
In 1988 he accepted a teaching position in law at the University of Nebraska.
He was later made Distinguished Professor at the University of Arkansas in 1999. He is the author of two books and numerous articles, some of which have been published in such journals as the Supreme Court Review, the California Law Review, and the Michigan Law Review.
He is a contributing editor of the history journal Historically Speaking.
