Worked at Filion, Wakely & Thorup. Admitted to the bar, 1991, Ontario. Filion, Wakely & Thorup is one of Canada"s leading management labour and employment law firms.
The firm has developed its specialty in labour and employment law over several decades, evolving from the firm of Ferguson, Montgomery, Cassels & Mitchell, which was founded in 1953.
The founding partners, Robert South. Montgomery and George South.P. Ferguson, are Justices of the Ontario Court of Justice. In 1982, Warren K. Winkler, Queen's Counsel, Roy C. Filion, Queen's Counsel and David I. Wakely, formed Winkler, Filion & Wakely.
With the appointment of Warren Winkler to the Ontario Court of Justice (General Division) in September of 1993, the present partnership was formed. The firm acts for a wide variety of employers in the private and public sectors, ranging from multi-national corporations and large government bodies with thousands of employees to small and medium-sized businesses.
