Mark Anthony Mirando, American Reproductive physiology educator. Achievements include discovery that peri-attachment pig conceptuses secrete two classes of interferons; contributions to understanding of how maternal recognition of pregnancy is achieved in sheep, cattle and swine; determination that testis growth in adult mammals generally involves hypertrophy rather than hyperplasia of sertoli cells.
