Trope and Trope was founded in 1949 by Sorrell Trope and Eugene Trope. From the inception, a substantial portion of the practice of the firm was devoted to divorce law (now referred to as Family Law).
All of the firm"s endeavors were involved in areas of litigation and trial work.
At present, the firm"s practice is almost exclusively devoted to the field of Family Law litigation, trials and appeals. Certain members of the firm continue to be involved in general civil trial work. Members of the firm participate in the Los Angeles County Superior Court"s Mediation Program in Family Law and serve as Mediators, assisting the Court in resolving calendared cases by mediation, eliminating the necessity of such cases being tried within the Court system itself.
