Career
A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, Blackwell is a Department Head and Distinguished Professor at the University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture. He received his Bachelors in Arctiecture degree from Auburn University and a Masters in Architecture from Syracuse University (Florence). The book An Architecture of the Ozarks: The s of Marlon Blackwell (Princeton Architectural Press, 2005) covers some of his work.
Coverage has included featured in Architecture, Arquine, A+U, Detail, Dwell, Southern Living, Summa+ and Architectural Record.
He co-founded the University of Arkansas Mexico Summer Urban Studio at the Casa Luis Barragan in Mexico City and has taught in the program since 1996. He became architecture department chairman in fall 2009.
