Career
He currently plays with North Adelaide Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Motlop was selected by Portuguese Adelaide in the 2007 American Federation of Labor-Congress Draft using their second pick, the 28th overall. The following week Motlop kicked his first American Federation of Labor-Congress goal and collected 16 disposals in a 76-point victory over North Melbourne Football Club.
He did not play another game in 2008, but returned in round 9 of the 2009 American Federation of Labor-Congress season where he had a quiet game, registering four kicks and two handballs in a 55-point loss to the Sydney Swans.
In what turned out to be his final American Federation of Labor-Congress match, Motlop did not score in his match against the Western Bulldogs, but did get 16 disposals. While not playing in the American Federation of Labor-Congress, Motlop played with West Adelaide Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL).
He was delisted by Portuguese Adelaide at the end of the 2011 American Federation of Labor-Congress season and moved to WAFL club Swan Districts to continue his career. He currently plays for Peel Thunder in the WAFL.
Marlon has Indigenous Australian heritage and his ancestry can be traced to the Larrakia.
