In 1972, Martha Alexandrovna Polyakova graduated from the History department of Moscow State University. In 1985, she graduated from the doctorate of Moscow State University. In 1988, she became a candidate of historical sciences.
From 1972 to 1990, Martha Alexandrovna Polyakova was engaged in work on the preparation of the Code of historical and cultural monuments of the RSFSR. Due to her work on the "Materials of the Code ...", she has repeatedly visited Voronezh. In 1990 she became a senior lecturer, associate professor of the Faculty of Museology of the Russian State University for the Humanities. She is the author of about 70 publications on various issues of cultural heritage protection, including several studies on Voronezh issues. Polyakova prepared for publication "Notes of Count MD. Buturlin" (Moscow, 2006; part 1-2).
Now Martha Alexandrovna Polyakova is a member of the Russian Local Lore Specialists Union and the Society for the Study of Russian Estate (Moscow, Russian Federation).
