This is the volume librarians requested most when we asked for suggestions about additions to our popular Maps On File "RM" collection.Historical Maps On File "TM" contains more than 300 maps that range in time from the dawn of civilization to our modern era.Most of the maps are political, military, or economic; their themes include major wars and battles, trading routes, colonial empires, the Crusades, revolutions, voyages of discovery, demographics, and religion. About a third of the collection is devoted to American history, such as the suffrage movement, ratification of the Constitution, slavery, canals, and Native Americans.
