Mr. Parmelee was trained in architecture in public schools at Waseca, Minnesota.
He began to practice there associated with Major W. C. Young, afterward moved to Chicago. Early in the present century he established a home and office in Knoxville, and continued in practice in that city until the thirties when he retired. Notable examples of his work were the Carnegie Library at the University of Tennessee, 1913, the Park City Methodist Church, 1922, several apartment houses in Knoxville, and Dormitories at the University of North Carolina.
