Kesler, Martin Luther was born on August 25, 1858 in Iredell Company, North Carolina, United States. Son of Charles Washington and Elizabeth Keziah (Lazenby) Kesler.

Education

Bachelor of Arts, Wake Forest (North Carolina) College, 1888, Doctor of Divinity, 1916. Master of Theology, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1891.

Career

Ordained ministry Southern Baptist Church, 1890. Pastor Laurinburg, North Carolina, 1891-1893, Red Springs, 1893-1896, Rocky Mount, 1897-1900, Scotland Neck, 1900-1903, Morgantown, 1903-1905. Superintendent Thomasville Baptist Orphanage, since 1905.

Inaugurated system of mothers’ aid, 1921. Trustee Wake Forest College, Meredith College, North Carolina State School for the Blind, State Board of Charities and Public Welfare.
