On air, Snider is known for his jovial nature and has been critically acclaimed for his interviewing skills. Early career
Snider worked as a sports reporter for WYFF, the National Broadcasting Company affiliate in Greenville, South Carolina (U.S.) from 1993-1994 and WGHP in High Point, North Carolina from 1991-1993. He began working for WGHP as an intern and was hired as a sports reporter and was on the air while he was finishing his senior year of college.
From 1994–1997, he worked as a reporter and associate producer for Entertainment and Sports Programming Network"s National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing Today.
Snider was CNNSI"s National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing reporter from 1998–2002, filing regular reports from every National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing event. From 1995–2000, Snider worked as a pit reporter for the Motor Racing Network"s (MRN) National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing radio broadcasts.
National Broadcasting Company Sports
Snider served as a pit reporter for National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing on National Broadcasting Company from 1999–2006. He has been a reporter for National Broadcasting Company"s NFL Pre-Game show Football Night in America, National Broadcasting Company"s Rugby 7"s coverage, the United States Army All-American Bowl, NBCSN"s College Basketball, PBR, and host of the North American International Auto Show on National Broadcasting Company Sports.
In 2008, Snider joined the National Broadcasting Company Olympic team in Beijing, China as a reporter for their coverage of Cycling and triathlon, BMX, canoe slalom, softball and also the closing ceremony.
In 2014, Snider was tapped to be a reporter for the NBCSN show National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing America. Snider will also serve as pit reporter for National Broadcasting Company Sports coverage of Indycar and National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing races starting in 2015. Turner Sports
Snider is a pit reporter for National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing on TNT. He has been a part of Turner Sports" National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing coverage since 1998.
Snider was awarded "Pit Reporter of the Year" in 2007 by National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing.com"s Fan Vote contest where race fans vote annually for their favorite personalities in National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing. Snider also appears during practice and qualifying session on Speed (2001-2013)/Fox Sports 1 (2014).
Foreign Turner Sports, Snider is also a part of the TNT National Basketball Association team where he serves as a sideline reporter during the regular season and playoffs, working with the teams of Marv Albert and Steve Kerr as well as Kevin Harlan and Reggie Miller. Since 2004, Snider has appeared each Tuesday on WFNZ in Charlotte on the Mac Attack with Chris Mcclain.
He is often maligned for his stance on the Duke/North Carolina rivalry in which he roots for both teams. He is also a regular on the nationally syndicated Mancow radio show.
Columbia Broadcasting System Sports
Snider also served as sideline reporter for Columbia Broadcasting System Sports for their Securities and Exchange Commission on Columbia Broadcasting System college football coverage.
Snider also served for years as a sideline reporter for the National Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament for both Columbia Broadcasting System Sports and Turner Sports. Marty Snider & Associates
In addition to his on-air duties, Snider has owned Modern Sciences and Arts (Marty Snider & Associates) since 1994. Mississippi&A serves as a video production company for Fortune 500 companies world wide.
Modern Sciences and Arts has ten full-time employees.
Personal
He remembers spending time with Hedgcock, Jeff Burton, Kyle Petty and Philosophy Parsons during his summers. "I would hang out in the garage, hand them wrenches and generally just get in the way," Snider said.
"I remember hanging around from the time I was 10 to the time I was about fifteen years old. I would follow those guys around to all the races I could – I think that"s when I really fell in love with racing."
Snider earned a degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
