Career
She was Mission Nebraska in 1962 at 18 years old and the feature performer on the Mission America 1963 Pageant Telecast. She ended up as a semi-finalist in the top ten and tied for the Preliminary Talent Award. She twirled three fire battons while performing acrobatics.
After graduating from high school she went on to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and was granted to stay in the Governors Mansion for the first month.
Graduating from the University of Nebraska she moved to California at 22. Marylee took up a teaching position while also attending Santa Clara University where she earned a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology.
She also holds Masters of Arts in Religion from Trinity Evangelical School in Deerfield, Illinois and a Post-Masters Certification from Northwestern University in Marriage and Family Therapy.
