Background

Masakichi was born in 1906, in Niigata Prefecture, Japan.

Education

Graduated from Economics Department of Senshu Uni-versity in 1929.

Career

He became clerk of All-Japan Federation of Labor Unions, manager of Transportation & Traffic Workers’ Labor Union, director of the Studio of Nan-o Motion Picture Production Company, chief of General Affairs Section of Sakura-Gumi Mining Company and director of ToKai Mining Station of Shin-Tanko (New Coal Mine) Company.

Became director of General Affairs Department and Information Department of Right-Wing Socialist Party in 1950 and director of Organizing Department of the same party in 1954.

Membership

Became member of the Committee for Organization of Socialist Party in 1946 and member of Central Executive Committee of Socialist Party in 1947.Since 1949 he was three times elected to House of Representatives.
