Massimo Rundo, Italian assistant professor, researcher; Achievements include research in simulation and testing of fluidpower components and systems; patents for pumping system employing a variable-displacement vane pump. Recipient Excellence in Oral Presentation award, Society Automotive Engineering, 2004.

Background

Rundo, Massimo was born on October 31, 1971 in Borgosesia, Italy.

Education

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Torino, Italy, 1996.

Career

Graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino in 1996. After graduation he participated with the Fluid Power Group of the Politecnico di Torino, as a Magneti Marelli visiting researcher, to an extensive research project on gerotor and external gear pumps for internal combustion engine lubrication. In 2000 he started the didactic activity as teaching assistant for Fluid Power courses in Vercelli, Mondovì and Torino. In 2005 he joined the Faculty at the Politecnico di Torino as Assistant Professor (confirmed in 2008). He is lecturer of Fluid Power from the academic year 2006/2007 and supervisor of more than 90 M.Sc. and B.Sc. theses. His research activity is mainly focused on modelling, simulation and testing of fluid power components, especially of positive displacement pumps. He is author of about 20 international scientific papers on gerotor and vane pumps.
