Murray began experimenting with film in his early teens, working on a variety of projects spanning documentary, alternative and fiction genres. As a student, his short films screened at numerous film festivals. Teenagers
In early 2014, Murray"s first web series teenagers (2014–present) gained significant popularity on YouTube and initially attracted media attention because its cast included several Degrassi stars including Chloe Rose.
The series received positive reviews from blogs and indie publications, and has screened at various festivals, winning awards at both the 2014 and 2015 Los Angeles Web Series Festival.
Foreign the second season of the series, award-winning director T.J. Scott served as executive producer. The first episode of the second season premiered on July 26, 2015, and has since been viewed over 1 million times.
In 2016, Murray was nominated for "Best Drama Series" and "Best Screenplay" at the Vancouver Web Series Festival.
