Membership
Originally from Roscommon, he now lives in Monaghan and was a member of Monaghan County Council from 2004 to 2014. Carthy was first elected as a member of Carrickmacross Town Council in 1999, and has served terms as Mayor of both Carrickmacross and Monaghan. He was a member of the Border Regional Authority.
