Career
Early in his career, Richards worked as a teacher of hide tanning, friction fire-making, harvesting and processing wild edibles and leatherworking. He wrote his book Deerskins into Buckskins: How to Tan with Natural Materials in 1997. Richards is a contributor to Bulletin of Primitive Technology.
