Adelle and Matthew were blessed with one son; Matthew Franklin Jenkins, born in July, 1989. Adelle and Matthew were married for over 25 years, until Adelle went to Heaven in 2010.
Background
Matthew Jenkins was born on December 26, 1950 in Trenton, Michigan. His parents were; Herbert Franklin Jenkins, and Essie Belle (Franklin) Jenkins, who lived in the housing projects on Bassett Street in Detroit. The family lived in abject poverty.
His siblings were; Veronica Takacs, Frances Hurst, Bobby Gene Jenkins, Raymond Herbert Jenkins, Shirley Ann Qualls and Sherry Darlene Loniewski. Matthew was the youngest of seven children born to Essie and Herbert Jenkins. Matthew was the only child born to this family that served in combat. He was also the only child born into this family that attended College.

Mom passed away on 24 March 1992, she was 83. She was a wonderful mother and a true Christian woman. She is interred at Acacia Park Cemetery, Michigan.
The picture of Mom was taken at 4472 Raymond Street, Dearborn Hts, Michigan. The flowers were sent to her by her son; Matthew Jenkins in 1971, while in Vietnam.

Adelle . . . I was married to my best friend for over 25, short years. Sweet Adelle passed away from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) on the 25th of March 2010, after suffering for nine years. She was 49 years of age. She is interred at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, Flat Rock, Michigan. I'm anxiously awaiting our meeting again, sweetheart!

Brother Bob passed away in 1996, at the age of 62 from lung cancer. He smoked cigarettes for over 40 years. He is interred at Michigan Memorial Cemetery, Flat Rock, Michigan. Bob was a good man, husband, father and provider.
Nephew & Friend:
Michael Lee Hurst
Mike and I grew up together, we went to the Boys Club Building in Detroit, nearly every day. We were like brothers, real close buddies.
While struggling with alcohol, Michael shot himself to death in 1992, he was 45 years of age. He is interred at Acacia Park Cemetery, Michigan. Michael is greatly loved and missed.

Jacob B. Babin was killed in action, Dong Ha, Vietnam, on
26 March, 1971. He was 21 years of age. Jake was a wonderful human being, and friend. He was from Malden, Massachusetts. Jake was engaged to his sweetheart, and never experienced life with his girl. This is why no American should burn the American flag! Jake died for the flag, and all that it represents. Freedom is NOT free!
