Career
He was recruited by the club with the sixth selection in the 2013 American Federation of Labor-Congress draft. Scharenberg, who was a once touted by Mark Williams as the best schoolboy prospect since Wayne Carey, entered his first pre-season on the sidelines with foot injuries. These injuries restricted him until the latter half of the 2014.
He played 5 VFL games before tearing his Anterior Cruciate Ligament in a marking contest.
Scharenberg made a quick recovery from a knee reco to play 10 VFL games before making his American Federation of Labor-Congress debut in Round 18, 2015, against Melbourne at the MCG as a late inclusion for Tyson Goldsack.
