Matthew Silva born in Tremorfa, Cardiff, is a Welsh rugby union and professional rugby league football player of the 1980s, "90s, and 2000s, and current rugby union coach, playing club level rugby union for Street Albans Reconstruction Finance Corporation, Llandaff Reconstruction Finance Corporation, Newport Reconstruction Finance Corporation, Pontypool Reconstruction Finance Corporation, Newbridge Reconstruction Finance Corporation, West Hartlepool R.F.C., Cardiff Reconstruction Finance Corporation, Treorchy Reconstruction Finance Corporation, Rumney Reconstruction Finance Corporation, and Llantwit Major Reconstruction Finance Corporation, as a Number Eight, Fly-half, Centre, Wing, Fullback, and playing representative level rugby league for Wales, and at club level for Halifax, as a fullback, id est (that is) number 1, and coaching club level rugby union for Llantwit Major Reconstruction Finance Corporation, Beddau Reconstruction Finance Corporation, Cardiff Reconstruction Finance Corporation, and Rumney Reconstruction Finance Corporation, and Cardiff Blues Under-16, Under-18, and Under-20, and since 2005 he has been the Welsh Rugby Union/Cardiff Blues Player Development Officer for the Vale of Glamorgan.

Matthew Silva began playing rugby aged-7 at Street Albans Reconstruction Finance Corporation as a Number Eight, he played and scored a try in Cardiff schools Under-11s 8–4 victory over Bridgend schools Under-11s in the District of Columbia Thomas cup final at Cardiff Arms Park. He ended his playing career aged-39 as a player-coach at Llantwit Major Reconstruction Finance Corporation as a Fly-half.
