Career
Currently playing for the Nashville Predators in the National Hockey League (National Hockey League). He was drafted 102nd overall, fourth round, in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft by the Predators. Ekholm played two games with the Predators at the start of the 2011-2012 season before returning to Brynäs for the remainder of the season.
He also played 1 game with the Predators in the 2013 season against the Vancouver Canucks due to the Predators lineup being decimated by injuries.
However, he was reassigned back to the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL the following day after the game. Ekholm scored his first National Hockey League goal on January 7, 2014 against Antti Niemi of the San Jose Sharks.
