Matvey KAPELYUSHNIKOV, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Petroleum engineer Honorary Sciences and Technical Worker of Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic from 1947. Order of Lenin; four other orders and medals. correspondent member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences from 1939.

1914 graduate Tomsk Technol Institute.
Career
1914-1937 worked at Baku Research Institute. 1937-1948 laboratory head, Oil Institute, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. 1958-1959 laboratory head, Institute of Geology and Mineral Deposits, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences.
1922 designed a turbo-drill for a new oil-drilling technique, which he developed. 1924-1931, together with V. G. Shukhov designed and constructed first Soviet cracking plant. 1952 established the presence of oil in solution in gas under high pressure.

Correspondent member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences from 1939.
