At the 1974 Masters Tournament, Bembridge tied the course record by shooting a 64 in the final round. After turning fifty he played on the European Seniors Tour, winning twice at that level Bembridge played for Great Britain or Great Britain & Ireland in the Ryder Cup four times, winning five matches, losing eight and halving three.
He also represented England in the World Cup twice.
